Kelly Clarkson

KellyKelly Clarkson, in full Kelly Brianne Clarkson, (born April 24, 1982, Fort Worth, Texas, U.S.), American singer, songwriter, and TV personality who emerged as a pop rock star following her win in the TV talent competition American Idol in 2002. Clarkson grew up at Burleson, Texas, a suburb in Fort Worth, where her vocal talent was first noticed by the choir instructor at her school at the age of a seventh grader. Clarkson dropped out of high school to move in Los Angeles where she failed to make it in the world of entertainment. After returning home in Texas In 2002, Clarkson competed on the The Fox Broadcasting Corporation's American Idol. This singing competition allowed viewers to choose their top performer. Clarkson received a lot of praise from viewers due to her captivating vocals and humorous style. Her prize for winning this competition was $1 million as well as an agreement to record with RCA.
