Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the US and is a Greek-American writer, syndicated columnist as well as a businesswoman. She's written 15 books and is the cofounder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington, an independently-owned liberal news outlet has a TV personality author, author and philanthropist. When she moved into England from Greece at 16 and obtaining an MA with Economics from Cambridge University. As the first non-English speaking student to graduate, she was elected president of The Cambridge Union' at the age of 21. After graduation she made her name as columnist in the conservative syndicated media and with the launch of The Huffington Post' few years later, she developed a voice-based website that gave critical opinions regarding the state of affairs. She was able to get many prominent contributors to share their opinions on culture and politics. Arianna's popularity started in 2003, after she became an independent candidate for the California recall vote to replace then-Governor Davis. Alongside this, she directed an Detroit project that promoted the use of fuel-efficient cars. Her name was voted as the most Popular Women in Media in 2009 by Forbes in 2009, gaining the 12th spot on this list. In the same year Guardian listed her among the 100 most influential media on their list. In 2011, AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made her president of that media company, which also included a number of then-existing AOL properties too such as Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. She was the daughter of journalist and management consultant Konstantinos as well as his spouse Elli Stasinopoulos. She was very close with her father. However, it was the relationship she had with her mother who has shaped her. Even as a young girl she demonstrated leadership skills that she still is known for. When she was 16 years old the girl moved into England in the United Kingdom for her higher education. She attended Girton College Cambridge. In the time of her studies, she belonged to the Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first woman and the only president from outside the country. Her graduation was in 1972 and she earned the degree of Master's in Economics. The career of a journalist and television host began after she graduated.
