Fawn Mckay
Fawn McKay was born 15 September 1915 in Ogden, Utah. Fawn is a member of the Mormon Church's longest-running family, merged her writing abilities and outstanding research skills to create a stunning biography of Joseph Smith. No Man knew My History appeared in 1945. The title of this book was in response to a funeral address given in 1844 by the Church of Latter-Day Saints founder, Joseph Smith. In that sermon he declared: "You do not know who I am and have never met my soul." Nobody knows my past. Truth is that I'm not sure. Fawn 29, a woman of 29 years old, wrote: "Since that moment of truthfulness, three or more writers have picked up the task." Many have abhorred him and others have deified. Few have made an assessment. The documents are not there, but that they are so contradictory. The process of assembling these documents, sorting through third- and first-hand sources, and integrating Mormons' narratives to other people's time-line - is a thorny task. It's both thrilling and informative. FawnBrodie was a dedicated devotee to her job. Thaddeus Stewards, which was the product of her research and writing, made her a world famous writer. The Devil drives (1959). Thomas Jefferson. An Intimate Historical Document (1974) and later posthumously Richard Nixon.
